The Makran coastal region is home to Hingol National Park, also known as Hungol National Park (Urdu: ہنگول نیشنل پارک). The park spans the Balochistani districts of Gwadar, Lasbela, and Awaran, and it is located roughly 190 kilometres (118 mi) from Karachi. In 1988, Hingol was designated as a national park.
The Park was named after the section of the Hangul River that runs parallel to the coast of the Arabian Sea and is home to a plethora of waterfowl and marine life. Hangul National Park is one of a kind among Pakistan’s national parks due to the variety of ecosystems it protects.
